Psychologist and Science Communicator
Professor Pete Etchells is a psychologist and science communicator based at Bath Spa University, UK. His research looks at the behavioural and mental health effects of playing video games, and more generally using screen-based technology. He is the author of Lost in a Good Game: Why We Play Video Games and What They Can Do For Us, and for four years was the Guardian’s science blog network coordinator. He has written for, among others Science Focus, WIRED, the Observer, the Telegraph, and Discover magazine’s science blog, Scientific American’s blog network, and has been a science consultant for BBC’s Horizon.
