Michael Miscione is a native New Yorker, a professional tour guide, and a historical activist. In 2006 he was appointed Manhattan Borough Historian. As the borough’s official history booster, he hosts talks, ceremonies, and tours, and is often quoted in the press about topics related to city history. He is well known for his ongoing efforts to raise awareness for Andrew H. Green, a forgotten 19th century master planner, reformer, and preservationist. Thanks largely to Mr. Miscione’s efforts the N.Y.C. Parks Department named a Manhattan park for Mr. Green at East 61 Street and the East River.
