Phil Plait is an astronomer, skeptic, author of two books, and writes the Bad Astronomy Blog for Discover Magazine. An outspoken defender of reality, Plait has written and spoken on the abusers of astronomy ranging from astrologers to Apollo Moon landing deniers and cosmic doomsday prophesiers, as well as other antiscientific topics such as creationism, the antivaccination movement, and homeopathy. Plait has appeared on numerous television programs discussing science and astronomy, and from 2008 – 2009 was president of the James Randi Educational Foundation. He’s currently working on new writing and television projects from his home in Boulder, Colorado.
