American mezzo-soprano Hai-Ting Chinn has been heard and seen in opera, concert, recital, and unclassifiable hybrid shows that find a use for her talents. Career highlights include the current tour of Einstein on the Beach (Philip Glass and Robert Wilson); The Wooster Group’s production of La Didone (music of Francesco Cavalli); New York City Opera’s L’Étoile (Emanuel Chabrier); Opera Omnia’s Coronation of Poppea at Le Poisson Rouge; and The King & I on London’s West End. She has been heard as soloist with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, The Israel Philharmonic, the Waverly Consort, and P.D.Q. Bach/Peter Schickele. Hai-Ting co-hosts a weekly podcast, Scopes Monkey Choir, a lighthearted discussion of the science of music. She is also creating Science Fair, an Evening of Science in Song, at New York City’s HERE Arts Center.
